I'm wondering about this question myself. It's not as if the facts of your identity change because a country revokes a document. Is it just a policy issue, that there are no countries that allow entry without showing a passport?
It certifies his identity, not his rights. I'm not sure how you can suddenly claim it's not valid, without claiming that the original certification was found to be incorrect.
That sounds a lot like a protection racket to me. "Pay us and you won't have to worry about our Ads.". I don't like the idea of paying someone to NOT do something.
I don't know how popular this is at other companies, but Intel (or at least my group) does use a week-based system for all dates. Today (December 28) would be "WW53.3". WW53 is the work week and .3 means Wednesday. Weeks start on Monday as ".1", whereas Sunday is ".0" and Saturday is ".6".
While this system should in theory make it easy to calculate the days need to complete a task, I still find myself converting to Month-Day every time. On the other hand, I don't have a clue what day of the week March 2nd is going to be, but if it's called WW9.5, then I immediately know that it's on a Friday 9 weeks from now.
I've heard the aphorism before, but the reason I like this interpretation is that it mentions that "even technical people" make mistakes. I usually take this quote to imply that the people using your products are getting dumber, but here the implication is that as people are getting smarter they'll test your products in ways that you weren't smart enough to think of first. The products need to be safe from the smartest users, not just the dumbest users.
What if Rhapsody offered a 23% discount for customers that subscribed via their website rather than through the In-App method? They could call Apple's 30% cut a "convenience fee" like online ticket sales.
Their app would be pulled from the store. You do business in the App Store at Apple's pleasure. Attempting to flout the spirit of their asinine rules is unlikely to be successful.
